BACKSTREET BOYS EN EL FESTIVAL DE VIÑA DEL MAR
Con boletos que se agotaron en apenas un par de horas, la penúltima noche del certamen era una entrega total a Backstreet Boys, la boyband más activa y vigente desde su irrupción en los 90, propietarios de un vínculo único con la Ciudad Jardín luego que aterrizaron por esos mismos rincones hace ya 21 años, en la cima de su popularidad, cuando muy pocos números anglo de alta convocatoria consideraban a la Quinta Vergara en su ruta.
La energía se sentía de temprano. Ya antes de las 21:00 horas se podía escuchar al público vibrando durante la previa de la penúltima jornada del Festival de Viña.
Los 15 temas de la noche fueron la selección más fina de sus éxitos, un playlist perfecto de un poco que en su momento se creía desechable y que sin embargo permanecen en la memoria, exitazos bailables como “Larger Than Life” y “Get Down” intercalados con baladas igualmente efectivas y redondas como “Incomplete”, “Show Me The Meaning Of Being Lonely” y “As Long As You Love Me” junto a medios tiempos infalibles como “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)”, listado que demuestra además cómo Backstreet Boys y sus productores se preocuparon en sus mejores años de matizar rítmicamente su catálogo, algo que al pop actual no le da mayor importancia.
"Los vamos a llevar en un viaje por los 26 años de Backstreet Boys", fue la promesa de A.J. y así fue. Con un show muy trabajado, resultado de las presentaciones que realizaron durante su residencia en Las Vegas, la que acabó justo antes de su participación en el Festival, el quinteto exigió al máximo las voces de las 15 mil personas presentes.
El regreso de Backstreet Boys fue un lujo. El grupo interpretó prácticamente el mismo listado de canciones que realizaron en Las Vegas, algo que no es muy común y que fue un manjar para el "Monstruo". Tan solo necesitaron las pistas de sus éxitos incombustibles y diez bailarines para mantener encendida la Quinta Vergara durante todo su show.
Tras la Gaviota de plata, Backstreet Boys mostró "Don't Go Breaking My Heart", single de su último álbum llamado "DNA", disco que los llevó de vuelta al número uno de Billboard. "I Want It That Way" y "Everybody (Backstreet’s Back)" flanquearon la Gaviota de oro. No podemos esperar volver con nuestro tour mundial", fue la promesa que dejaron en su despedida.
Mucha gente se retira de la Quinta Vergara tras el final del número con sus premios provincianos y los animadores batallando con el inglés. Las chicas de ayer se van cantando rumbo a la Plaza Parroquia en el centro de Viña. Por unas horas son jóvenes nuevamente mientras corean espontáneas los mayores hits de la venerable boyband. Si hay una medida que mensura el éxito de un concierto es ese tipo de reacciones, voces que siguen entonando las canciones recién disfrutadas en vivo como una manera de prolongar el gozo, la noche y el recuerdo.

With tickets sold out in just a couple of hours, the penultimate night of the contest was a total delivery to Backstreet Boys, the most active boyband since their break in the 90s, owners of a unique link with the garden city after they landed for those same corners 21 years ago, at the peak of its popularity, when very few anglo numbers of high call considered the Quinta Vergara on its route.

"We're going to take you on a trip through the 26 years of Backstreet Boys," was the promise of A.J. so it was. With a show very worked, the result of the presentations they made during their residency in Las Vegas, which ended just before their participation in the Festival, the quintet demanded to the maximum the voices of the 15 thousand people present.
The return of Backstreet Boys was a luxury. Yesterday's girls are singing to the Plaza Parroquia in the center of Viña. For a few hours they are young again while spontaneously chanting the greatest hits of the venerable boyband.
