Resilient is a word that describes the Backstreet Boys’ career and lives over the past 25 years. Strong. Tough. Hardy.

According to Grace Leon, a longtime fan club member from Arizona, that’s the word she thinks perfectly describes the Backstreet Boys and the reason she is the Soldier of the Month for the month of their silver anniversary.

“So many obstacles have been overcome, both professionally and personally,” Grace, a month of two teenagers, said. “Many would have given up and allowed the challenges to defeat them but they never gave up on their dreams”

Inspiration, dedicated and everlasting are three other words that Grace would use to describe her favorite group.

“These words describe (Backstreet Boys) and each of the members as well,” she said. “We all know that the group has gone had their ups and downs as well as each of the members. Even through it all, they still strive to work hard and continue to make amazing music. Because of this, we know that BSB and their music will be around for a long time.”

Where are you from? Arizona

What do you do for a living? I am a certified pharmacy technician

Tell us a little bit about yourself: I have two kids ages 17 and 13. I love being able to spend time with them when they let me. I love being able to travel and meet new people. I have met some of the best friends i could ask for because of our love for the Backstreet Boys.

How long have you been a BSB fan? I have been a fan since I first heard them.

How did you become a fan?It’s actually a funny story. I was in a music store looking for new CDs. The song “Quit Playing Games (With My Heart)” came on and I loved it . I asked the cashier about the song and got the CD right away. Have been a fan ever since

What is your favorite BSB memory? Wow there are so many of them. It seems like every time I meet them, something amazing happens. So the one that really sticks out is when the boys were in Vegas for the In a World like This tour, I had a gift made for Kevin. It was a pair of shoes with the Kentucky Wildcat image in it. When I gave it to him, he was so excited. He actually walked around showing of the shoes to the guys. It’s was a great experience to say the least.

What is your favorite BSB song and why? “Drowning”.. it’s such a beautiful love song and honestly what girl and guy wouldn’t want a love like that

What is your favorite BSB video and why? “Helpless When She Smiles” because the fact that’s it’s black and white give it more impact. Its definitely a video I can watch over and over

Who is your favorite Backstreet Boy and why? Brian ..what I like most about him is the fact that he is just one who will make you laugh... He always tries to make you feel special as well even if it’s just a simple thing like a hug.

How has BSB impacted your life? I would say that they have made a big impact in my life. They have shown me that you don’t have to give up on something you want. It’s never going to be easy and if it was it wouldn’t be worth it. Also their music has helped me through a time in my life where their music was just a savior.

What is your favorite thing about being a BSB fan? I would definitely have to say the memories and the people you met.

Have you been to Vegas? If so, how many times and if not, are you planning on seeing a show? I have not been to a show yet, but I will be going to three shows in July.

What has been your favorite BSB moment over the past 25 years? My favorite BSB moment was the guys’ 20th anniversary in LA. The see the celebration of all their hard work was an amazing sight.
