There are many reasons why I’m thankful for BSB. I have been to 2 concerts so far in Vegas and stand in awe each time. I’m already planning to attend again next year and this time, meet BSB!! 22 years ago, when I was 7, I met my best friend who was also team BSB. We are still besties to this day and are still just as dedicated BSB fans.
My early childhood was the best years of my life when I was raised by my Nana and BSB helped me hold onto those positive memories. I still have VCR tapes with all the BSB concerts and interviews that were once on MTV, and remember when my walls were covered in posters.
When I was a teenager, my life took an unexpected turn. I went through so much with my drug addicted, mentally ill mother. Because of her addiction and illness she was not able to care for my 6 younger siblings which left me in that role and eventually we were all separated by Child Protective Services. All of us suffered so much abuse in various forms, and I had to cope with it somehow. Music was always my outlet. Anytime I was feeling upset, sad, mad, scared, I listened to BSB which always brought me back to all the positive memories and times of my earlier childhood in those moments.
Today, I am a Social Worker who advocates for kids who were in a situation just like me. And when my kids that I work with are struggling and ask me how I coped with my own trauma as a teenager, I shared with them my passion for music that took me to a happier place and helped me escape from dark thoughts. And when I tell them I love BSB and play BSB songs, they usually don’t know what I’m talking about lol but I tell them, BSB is the Justin Bieber of my generation, but much better :)
Over the years, through different stages and relationships (both losses and gains) I have related to BSB’s songs. There is not a song by BSB that I don’t know or that doesn’t mean something to me.
Recently, I lost my Nana who meant the world to me. When she passed, I listened to The Perfect Fan over and over remembering how amazing she was and how perfect that song is. Thank you BSB for just being the amazing, talented, humble and kind hearted men that you are!!! You have no idea how much you have impacted my life. I will be so thankful to get the chance to meet you next year :)
To go with my answer, (Hopefully it's okay to add on since I have no clue how to edit or delete comments) No matter how I was feeling, BSB always put a smile on my face and would help me forget why I was angry or upset etc and I could always count on them for a smile and laughs (via youtube several years ago), and they were and are literally my God given light to my darkness and they were the one (no pun intended... or was it? lol) I always ran to, turned to, and sought comfort in/from. They even taught me through music that what makes me different, makes me beautiful ;), which comes in about my being bullied- I was called ugly, freak of nature etc etc, and I believed I was until BSB (more specifically Howie since he wrote the song) came out with Black & Blue and I listened to What Makes U Different (Makes U Beautiful) several times and I had fallen in love with the song, and I totally was not expecting BSB let alone Howie D to be my hero during that time. I was so far into the darkness, I was honestly wanting to change just to be liked and accepted once and for all and make the bullying stop in that way, but, BSB saved me from the bullies and from myself as in changing. I was never depressed or suicidal so none of the things that goes with that. I was more hurt, sad, frustrated rather than depressed or suicidal and honestly, i didn't know what depression and suicide was at the time other than suicide being a blend of different sodas which I learned from my younger sister. I just took the bullying you could say and just coped the only way I knew how- BSB therapy. I still turn to them to this day on my bad days and they still never fail to make me smile and laugh, especially with thier crazy and silly antics! I see BSB as a gift from God and I will always hold them in a special place in my heart <3
I'm thankful for the Backstreet Boys because they were they for me during all my hard times, 2 eing when I lost my mom to breast cancer, and the second being the time I was bullied badly and they were the ones I turned to for comfort because no one else would give me the time of day. If it wasnt for them, i don't know how i would have coped with either event.
I am thankful for the Backstreet Boys for many reasons.
1. I’m thankful they have given us wonderful music over the past 25 years!
2. I’m thankful they continue to give us new music!
3. I’m thankful for all the memories I have made listening to BSB!
4. I am thankful they can take me back to being a teenager and feeling so care free!
5. I’m thankful for AJ McLean! ??????
6. I’m thankful for Brian, Howie, Kevin and Nick too! ????????????
7. I am thankful for the video for “Show ‘em what you’re made of”
8. I’m thankful for the amazing friends BSB has given me!
9. I’m thankful for “Don’t Go Breaking My Heart” being so catchy that my 4 year-old little boy loves singing it with Mommy!!
10. I’m thankful for all the feels that each individual song gives me and how I can relate to every single one of them!
I am thankful for BSB because they have truly been a constant happiness in my life for at least 21 years. Every time I see a concert, hear them on the radio or see them on TV, my day is instantly better. I just went to my 8th show Saturday and I feel like I love them more and more every time. I am also grateful that I have shared each concert experience with different friends so they can also see the PURE JOY BSB's music brings to light.
I’m thankful I got to meet these 5 wonderful guys twice in the same year 2018.
I traveled a 24 roundtrip back in February all by myself from Cleveland Ohio “The City that Rocks” to meet, and see these guys perform. I also came back a few weeks ago in October to meet these guys again as a wedding gift from my husband to me, and see them perform again. Love these guys ever since I was 15 years old, and I’m 39 years old now. Keep on Rocking BSB...
I am thankful for the Backstreet Boys for making wonderful music that can be used as the soundtrack to my life. Whether it's a hard situation that I am facing like a heartbreak or a personal loss and I need to let it out and just cry, to those moments that are joyous - where all I want to do is dance and sing at the top of my lungs, or the big life-changing moments. There are so many songs that I can listen to that can help me deal and express my emotions that I am feeling in the moment. Their music has helped me in my personal and professional life to face different situations that have made me anxious or doubt myself. As a result, the positive messages in some songs helped me become stronger and promote self-esteem. For that I am thankful!
I am excited to hear the new single and the new album! :)
I am thankful for BSB because their music got me thru the roughest time of my life. My mom died of lung cancer in 1997 when I was 16, I went thru a depression and tried to join my mom and it was the Backstreet Boys music I would listen to at night when I would lay in bed and cry myself to sleep they inspired me to keep going ... Its been 21 years since then and I am still and always will be a hardcore fan. I still listen to their music everyday and it still helps me thru my depression today. I love you guys always and forever. Thank You for everything.
I’m thankful for BSB because they are a continuous light in my life. Life gets so busy with work, kids, and the daily grind that it’s sometimes so easy to just keep grinding instead of stopping to appreciate all of the simple, little moments in each day. BSB’s music always brings me to a happy place. When I’m happy, I reflect and remember to be grateful for the little moments too. It truly is amazing what music can do for the soul.
I'm thankful for BSB because their five part harmony has blessed me with timeless music. They have given me those soul stirring hits that I can always turn to when my spirit needs lifting or simply when I just want to hear their beautiful unique voices croon. I'm thankful for BSB for the music that all my great memories are made of and for the music and memories to come.
