When I met my wife in 1998 we were in high school. She had Backstreet Boys posters up in her room and was/is a huge fan. While I grew up listening to country and 80's rock, she had fallen in love with the Backstreet Boys. They were the 1st music that I liked outside of what I grew up listening to and their songs were there every step of the way through our relationship. Many of the love songs sang by the Backstreet Boys were there through my deployments and they described our relationship. Although I got made fun of by many of my brothers-n-arms, I didn't care because their music had more meaning than just the lyrics to us. She got to go to a concert when they were in Nashville 20 years ago and I'm proud to say that I am going to be able to bring her back to Nashville in August of next year. It's a surprise for her birthday, so I'm hoping that I can win a contest or something to get us a chance to meet the men whose music has defined a 20 year love story. Thank you!
I am a 40 year old man that loves the Backstreet Boys I cannot deny it, this is definitely not the typical demographic of your fans. However, being a fan has taught me many things about life watching the Boys throughout there journey. You have taught me perseverance through the ups and downs of the band professionally and personally, it takes a tremendous amount of time and energy to perfect a craft, and you have done this in the limelight for a longtime. You have taught me about passion, in everything you do; live life soulfully. Don't be afraid to break the mold, go out on a limb and seek discomfort. You have taught me perspective, no one has ever succeeded their way to success, failure at times is when you grow the most. A strangely enough, I am thankful for the Backstreet Boys just because. Just because they have been part of my life for 20+ years. I am thankful because you are inspirations in a world that at times has no inspiration. I am thankful to be part of your Army because there is no other demographic I would rather be in than a BSB fan. Thank-you!
I am ever so thankful for the Backstreet Boys as they have been apart of my life for the past 21 years. Their music has gotten me through many ups and downs in my life. When my father passed away when I was 15 all I remember is listening to bsb everyday to get through the day. My father was the only person who knew how much I love the BSB! I love the fact that even after all these years, your music makes me still get butterflies! Love you guys!
I'm thankful for BSB because they make me happy and have so memories with the boys and with friends I have made because of them.
I am thankful for BSB because they make so many people around the world happy :)
I also found I am genetically at risk for Breast and Ovarian Cancer due to the BRCA 1 gene . ( The same gene that Angelina Jolie has and went public with). I found out when I was 24 and the medical options that are presented are very slim as to either 1) Having a mastectomy at 35 and/ or Oophrectomy at 35 ( removing the Ovaries and Fallopian tubes) 2) Egg Conservation 3) Live it with it and due annually screening twice a year which I have been doing. When I first found out, I cried and I was shocked. I still cry sometimes which is why I wanted to talk to Kevin and Kristen about the fertility issues they experienced which was published in People's magazine, etc a few years ago. I don't think the general public knows enough information about this. So yes, their music helped me deal with this very personal issue too ranging from Black and Blue music and all their albums.
I been a fan since 1996, since 3rd grade. The Backstreet Boys have helped me through my life through my transition as a child to a teen to young adult. Even though I met Kevin Richardson on November 14, 2006 for the 25th Anniversary for Chicago Broadway play, I didn't know my problems would arise after my senior year in my highschool. I was in love with a guy in Italy and although I don't want to go into details, I tried committing suicide a year ago for him. But it was more of the fact that everyone in the town in Italy where this man lived spoke about me in front of my face. I had an encounter with his colleges in the street where I confront them and I said " What the hell is your problem?" as they were making signals and faces to each other that I was walking towards them. So the night, all of the emotional pressure made me break. I also am blessed I spoke to Brian Littrell on the phone from Live Daily fan club contest on August 13, 2007. I wish to meet them one day or have them to sing to me. So after I attempted suicide, their music helped me heal emotionally and mentally.
I’m beyond thankful for everything that the Backstreets Boys (who I have been a fan for almost 14 years) have done since all of their music has helped me get through so many emotional and hard times. Recently my dad had brain surgery and I played every single BSB cd so that I would only think happy thoughts. The surgery was thankfully a success and BSB got me through this difficult time. Backstreet Boys: I love you! I can’t wait to see you when y’all come to California in August.
I am grateful that the Backstreet Boys are still around after all these years and that I can still enjoy their music. I have been a fan of yours ever since I was a little girl and now, after more than 22 years, I finally have the opportunity to see them live and I'm really looking forward to the European tour and much more to the concert in Berlin. I am also very happy that my six-year-old son is now an even bigger fan than me.
